DFA’s North American Practice Leader to Speak at NYC Underwriting Conference

DFA Capital Management Inc. (DFA), the leading provider of Enterprise Risk Management solutions to the insurance and financial services industries, today announced that its Executive Vice President of Professional Services for North America, Chris Suchar, will be one of the featured speakers at the upcoming Effective Underwriting Strategies Conference.

Held in New York City from September 29-30, the conference will examine best practices in the Property and Casual (P&C) insurance and reinsurance markets, with an emphasis on evaluating various methods in catastrophe and predictive modeling, pricing, and enterprise risk management.

Mr. Suchar’s presentation, which will take place on the 30th from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m., will focus on the rapid deployment of whole-company economic capital modeling by leveraging existing models. In addition, Mr. Suchar will participate in a panel discussion from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. that will discuss integrating loss variability indications into enterprise wide DFA modeling.

Mr. Suchar joined DFA as a principal of the company’s Insurance Modeling Team in March 2000. He is responsible for all aspects of customer support and professional services, and operations throughout the North American region. Mr. Suchar is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), and past Chair of the Casualty Actuarial Society Committee on the Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar. He holds a bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
